What Students Say

Bio

Dr. Eilers attended Northwestern University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a major in biological sciences with a focus on biochemistry, graduating in only three years. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in his junior year when he graduated. After graduating from Northwestern University, he matriculated to the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, where he was awarded a full tuition merit scholarship. He read applications and interviewed over 40 medical school applicants, working extensively with the admissions staff and admissions committee. He was heavily involved with revisit weekend planning and understanding the important factors that schools use to select the best candidates for their institutions.

Dr. Eilers completed his transitional year in Chicago, where he interviewed over 50 medical school students. He then completed his dermatology residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he interviewed and reviewed every applicant during their residency interview in his final year. He helped create the match list with the faculty and program director and helped select the best candidates among the most competitive applicants in medical school.

Dr. Eilers is a board-certified dermatologist currently completing his Mohs micrographic surgery and cutaneous oncology fellowship with Dr. David J. Goldberg at Skin Laser & Surgery Specialists of New York and New Jersey. He enjoys treating complex skin cancers with Mohs micrographic surgery, where skin cancers are reviewed under the microscope for precise margin control, with a 99% clearance rate at five years. Dr. Eilers also enjoys performing complex repairs requiring flaps and grafts for the remaining defects and has a strong exposure to energy device treatments for scar revisions and elective/cosmetic dermatology.

When Dr. Eilers is not reading about dermatology and helping prospective medical students, he is an avid golfer with a handicap at one point of three, pianist, and devoted Chicago Bears and Chicago Blackhawks fan.
