Bio

Dr. Choo earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, where she majored in molecular and cell biology and minored in Spanish. Throughout her undergraduate years, she participated in mission trips to underserved areas abroad, working as a Spanish interpreter in Mexico and Guatemala. As a Spanish minor, her fluency proved invaluable in these settings, helping bridge communication gaps in medical environments. Dr. Choo also taught English in China and Kazakhstan, gaining significant cross-cultural experience. Additionally, she committed four years to serving as a youth teacher at her church, balancing this role with her academic responsibilities. Before going to medical school, she spent a year teaching MCAT classes. She went on to complete her medical degree at University of California, San Diego and pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children’s).

After graduating from residency, Dr. Choo became a chief resident and associate program director at the CHOC Children’s and the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine) residency programs. During that time, she served on the residency admissions committee, where she reviewed hundreds of applications. She has also worked with the UC Irvine medical school in teaching students and preparing them for the application process. Dr. Choo was a board certified pediatrician at CHOC Children’s outpatient clinic, where she regularly worked with and taught residents in her practice.
