Austin Jolly is from Lakewood, Colorado, and is a current MD/PhD student at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus. Prior to medical school, he attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in integrative physiology and graduated with honors distinction. During his time in Boulder, Austin was an undergraduate teaching assistant in the human anatomy labs. He facilitated dissection learning and helped students master the organization of the human body. Currently, Austin serves as a lead instructor for an organization called Knowledge Base, conducting review sessions that focus on high-yield content for medical exams for first- and second-year medical students.
As a medical school student, Austin’s PhD thesis work focused on vascular biology and new ways to treat blood vessel stiffening. He is now completing clinical rotations and is interested in pursuing cardiology. Furthermore, he received honors for all courses in his first two years of medical school and scored a 256 on USMLE STEP 1. Austin has a serious passion for connecting with students and inspiring them to believe in themselves as they prepare for exciting challenges in their professional career.
