Faustine was born and raised in San Francisco, California. She graduated with Honors from the University of Washington in Seattle with a B.A. in Medical Anthropology and Global Health. As an undergraduate, she was a peer instructor in the Honors Program for two consecutive years, conducted research in medical anthropology, and was a member of the Varsity women’s soccer team, serving as captain during her final season.
In medical school, she was involved in a variety of teaching, leadership, and clinical research experiences. She designed and taught a course on clinical reasoning skills for second-year medical students, developed curriculum materials for the pre-clinical pediatrics course at her medical school, and led a number of small group and large group case-based sessions on various topics in pediatrics and infectious disease. She received a 253 on Step 1 and a 266 on Step 2 CK, and she scored in the 90th percentiles on all of her shelf exams. She also received Honors in all of her clinical rotations.
Collectively, Faustine has over 10 years of teaching, tutoring, and mentoring experience. She believes in tailoring learning plans and study strategies to the unique strengths of each student. She is currently a pediatrics resident at the University of California, San Francisco where she is involved in teaching, curriculum development, clinical research, and mentoring.
