Bio

Keya is from Westchester, NY. She graduated from New York University Stern School of Business with a major in Finance and a minor in Chemistry. During her time at NYU, she was involved in performing basic science research at the NYU Langone Hospital as well as volunteering in a busy Emergency Department at the New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. During her gap year before medical school, Keya worked as an analyst at a boutique hedge fund. In 2017, she started medical school in Long Island at the NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine. During her time in medical school, Keya was involved in the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) and now serves on the national board. She excelled in her preclinical classes and obtained a 245+ on Step 1 and 650+ on COMLEX 1. She was selected for a summer research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering where she studied the affect of race and language on patient satisfaction. Keya also excelled in her clinical studies by receiving honors in many of her clerkships. Currently, Keya is a 4th year medical student applying to Internal Medicine residency with a larger goal of pursuing a career in Hematology/Oncology.
