Bio

Kim was born and raised in Houston, Texas, as the youngest of three children. She attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated with honors with her bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in classical civilizations. She went on to enroll at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where she won multiple scholarships and was honored with awards such as the Student Award in Oslerian Medicine.

Despite the onset of the pandemic, Kim enrolled in a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree program at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. During her MPH program, she focused on biostatistics, epidemiology, and health systems and policy. She also earned a certificate in health disparities and inequalities. After graduating with a 4.0 GPA, Kim dedicated a year to research with the Johns Hopkins Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Currently, Kim is a PGY-1 resident in plastic and reconstructive surgery At Johns Hopkins Hospital.
