Bio

Dr. Blanch earned a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from Brigham Young University (BYU). She worked in the honors advisement center and assisted hundreds of premedical students with their personal statements as a writing fellow. She was also president of the honors advisory council and traveled abroad to Guatemala, where she volunteered in a health clinic. Honored as a Karl Maeser Graduate Fellow, Dr. Blanch obtained her MA in rhetoric while teaching writing courses and a course on physician-writers.

In medical school at the University of Utah, Dr. Blanch served on the admissions committee, worked as an MCAT Instructor, and edited for the student journal, Eklektikos. She completed a pediatrics residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, where she also served on the admissions committee. As a resident, she presented a case at the AAP National Conference, earning first place in the poster session. As an assistant professor of pediatrics, she was named a new faculty teaching scholar and published articles in several journals.

Dr. Blanch is passionate about music and plays the piano and organ. She enjoys performing with local choirs, churches, schools, and theatrical productions. She lives in Texas with her husband, a neuroradiologist, and their five children.
