Bio

As a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) physician practicing in South Florida, Dr. Thomas brings a diverse background that combines clinical expertise and a strong foundation in public health. She completed her undergraduate studies at Brown University, majoring in mathematics and political philosophy, which sparked her early interest in the intersection of healthcare and policy. Following graduation, Dr. Thomas entered the field of public health and earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Columbia University, concentrating on health policy and management. Her experience in public health led her to pursue medicine as a nontraditional applicant, completing a post-baccalaureate program before matriculating at the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine.

Dr. Thomas continued her medical training with a residency at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, where she was appointed chief resident in her final year, further honing her leadership skills. She then completed a fellowship in spinal cord injury medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami, gaining specialized expertise in complex rehabilitation care. Currently, Dr. Thomas works in private practice as a hospital-based physiatrist, where she brings her extensive training and public health background to provide comprehensive rehabilitative care to her patients.
