Emily grew up in Lexington, MA, and attended Brown University for both undergraduate and medical school as part of the eight-year combined Program in Liberal Medical Education. As an undergraduate, Emily studied neuroscience and completed an honors thesis. She tutored her peers in biology, and was a neuroscience teaching assistant.
In medical school, Emily further developed her passion for teaching and mentorship. She has worked with multiple medical students to help them prepare for exams. She has also served as a peer mentor for the transition to medical school and specialty decision-making. Her teaching skills extend to younger students as she taught reproductive health to local middle schoolers.
Emily is pursuing a career in obstetrics and gynecology. She values collaborating with her peers and working in teams. As a tutor, Emily uses her background in athletics to take an encouraging approach. She believes in the power of a strong plan to set students up for success!
