Dr. Zak Sharif-Sidi earned his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from the University of Chicago. He then pursued his first venture at a healthcare technology start-up called NowPow, where he was involved in founding the company and later as a member of the leadership team. Shortly thereafter, he matriculated at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) where he led review sessions for pre-clinical courses and tutored for Step 1 and 2. He scored 256 on Step 1 and 255 on Step 2.
With an entrepreneurial background and a love for technology, Zak maintains a creative and flexible approach to teaching that allows him to effectively reach students, regardless of their learning styles. He has successfully helped a wide range of students from high performers to students that have needed to remediate courses. He believes the key to success on board exams is strong mentorship, a willingness to leverage technology to help optimize study time, and flexibility. Currently, Zak is a PGY-3 in dermatology at the University of Iowa.
